HURRICANE ISABEL

The dives this weekend were canceled due to the winds, water and devastation caused by Hurricane Isabel. Our hopes and prayers go out to everyone who was in the path of this devastating storm and suffered its consequences. But of particular concern are our friends on the North Carolina coast — especially in the Outer Banks areas of Hatteras, Ocracoke, Rodanthe, Buxton, Kitty Hawk, Nags Head, etc. BFDC diver, Bruce Wilkins, owner, publisher and reporter of the Carolina Breeze weathered the storm in Buxton and was one of the first reporters to visit Hatteras Island after the storm. Below are some of Bruce's pictures of the damage, of what was once familiar landmarks, and, of course, some of the great folks of the Outer Banks. [All photos Copyright © 2003 by Bruce Wilkins]
